The new RM 27-02 is a sports tourbillon wristwatch designed by RICHARD MILLE specifically for tennis player Rafael Nadal. It features an ultra-lightweight case and exceptional stability to withstand the immense accelerations during gameplay — in fact, South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk wore this watch when winning the gold medal in the men’s 400-meter final at the Rio Olympics.

Inspired by racing car chassis, RICHARD MILLE integrates the movement’s skeletonized main plate and case into a single design to significantly enhance impact resistance. To achieve a lighter weight, Richard Mille collaborated with North Thin Ply Technology to develop a tough and durable “quartz fiber” ultra-light material for the case, making the entire watch weigh as little as a sheet of paper and exhibit a rugged texture akin to Damascus steel.

Through the sapphire crystal, the structure of the entire movement can be clearly seen, featuring a floating tourbillon at 6 o’clock and Richard Mille’s unique rapid rotating barrel at 12 o’clock, providing a power reserve of up to 52 hours with a 20% increase in energy efficiency during initial winding.

The white bezel is secured to the case with 12 grade 5 titanium screws, complemented by an orange strap and red crown. To enhance readability and recognition, the tips of the hour and minute hands are highlighted in bright orange-yellow.
