New RICHARD MILLE RM 27-02 Rafael Nadal-Created Watch
New RM 27-02 is a sporty tourbillon watch designed specifically for tennis player Rafael Nadal by Richard Mille. Not only does it feature an ultra-light case, but it also boasts extreme stability to withstand the instant acceleration caused by ball impact – Wayde van Niekerk, the South African athlete, wore this watch to cross the finish line and win the gold medal in the 400m final at the Rio Olympics. Richard Mille was inspired by race car chassis, integrating the hollow main plate of the movement and the case to greatly improve shock resistance. To make the watch lighter, Richard Mille collaborated with North Thin Ply Technology to develop a hard-wearing, ultra-light “quartz fiber” material to make the case, with the whole watch weighing as if it were a piece of paper and presenting an ornery texture like Damascus steel. Through the watch glass, one can clearly see the entire movement structure, with the floating tourbillon at 6 o’clock and Richard Mille’s unique rapid rotating spring box at 12 o’clock, which can provide a power reserve of up to 52 hours and increase 20% of kinetic energy efficiency at the initial winding. The white bezel is fixed to the case with 12 grade 5 titanium screws, paired with orange straps and case, with the tip of the hour and minute hand also highlighted with bright orange for better readability. Richard Mille RM 27-02 Watch Full carbon fiber case, sapphire crystal case back, carbon fiber dial, floating tourbillon movement, 19 jewels, power reserve hours, woven strap, titanium alloy buckle, water-resistant 50 meters. Complex functions: Tourbillon
